Victorian Postcards

Because of the intricate designs of these postcards, they have come to be known as "Victorian" postcards in the U.S., although most of them were published during the reigns of Edward VII and George V.

VIC-131. Halloween. Handrawn invitaion to Halloween party, with candle to the left. Used-postmarked 1906. Stain in center of card, creases from album mounting, slight cancellation marking on upper part of candle, crease on middle left edge, Good condition. $15.00.

VIC-143. "Easter Greetings." Egg shaped cage with little chick hopping out, winged girl angel running across tops of colored eggs, gold foil trim on eggs, lettering, and girl. Embossed, printed in Germany, not postally used, but writing on back. Creases on lower right corner, slight tears on upper left corner, left corner rounded, upper right corner lightly creased, otherwise excellent condition. $6.00.
