There are many full-time postcard shops across the country, but Felix St. Postcards is a unique store in the world of postcard collecting. We took the concept of an antique mall and applied it to postcards. Where most postcard stores feature just the inventory of the store owner, our store contains postcards from many different dealers and collectors.
Walking into our store is like walking into a postcard show, except that we are open all year long! Dealers from all over the country have chosen Felix St. Postcards to display their merchandise. We also offer merchandise from collectors. These people have never been dealers and their merchandise has never before been available to purchase. With new postcards being stocked daily, it is the ideal place for both dealers and collectors to find just the right postcard.
We are located in historic downtown St. Joseph, Missouri. Just 50 miles north of Kansas City, St. Joseph is where the Pony Express started and where Jesse James ended. Felix St. Postcards is owned and operated by Cole and Ingrid Woodbury. Ingrid and I are shown in the photo above. I have been collecting postcards since I was a child and this store is my Field of Dreams. As it says in the book, "Build it and they will come."
What better way to enjoy my passion than to create a store where I can be surrounded by postcards and the great people who make the hobby such a pleasure. I have made every effort to display my enthusiasm throughout the store, from the postcards adorning the walls, to the way that Ingrid and I treat our customers.
My main personal collecting interest is postcards of St. Joseph, Missouri. Even with the number of cards that I have, there are many that I still need to find to add to my collection.
