2005 Postcard Art Competition and Exhibition Winners

The unique Postcard Art Competition and Exhibition (PACE) is sponsored by the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, part of the Lake County Discovery Museum located in Wauconda, Illinois. The bi-annual event honors the postcard as an art form and challenges artists from around the country to create original works of art in 4"x 6" postcard size.

Judging is based on creativity, content, technical expertise and reproducibility as a postcard. This year's jurors were Susan Brown Nicholson and Victoria L. Scogland. Ms. Nicholson is a recognized authority on paper ephemera and author of The Encyclopedia of Antique Postcards. An appraiser of antique paper items, she writes monthly columns for Barr s Postcard News and The Postcard Collector. She also produces three major postcard and ephemera shows in the Chicago area, and the National Postcard Convention each year. Ms. Scogland is a professional fine and decorative arts appraiser and industry expert for the popular Antiques Roadshow and the Home and Garden Channel s The Appraisal Fair.

The following 12 winning designs were selected from over 572 entries, with a variety of media represented.
